Streptopelia roseogrisea  

This dove was originally introduced here as a domestic species.

Since its arrival in Australia, it has managed to produce a significant wild population and been given the nickname of Feral Pigeon.

There is quite a problem in Alice Springs where the Barbary Doves are taking over the nests of our native birds.
